This stunning academic nude male photograph dates from the 1920s or '30s and features a lean, muscular, athletic model in a stunningly beautiful outdoor pose that highlights his defined musculature.
Neither the photographer nor the model is identified, but this is clearly the work of a professional studio.
This photograph comes from a collection of late 19th and early 20th Century photography, including works by Gloeden and Townsend, much of which was not identified. Many of the images were possibly academic studies posed and photographed by an artist as research.
Condition
Measuring approximately 7.25-by-9.75-inches, this original photograph is printed on glossy stock and is in good condition. There is a small bend in the lower left corner and light bumps in the print, most likely from the printing process. This is all very subtle. Quality and clarity are excellent.
