Vintage Jacksonville State University (JSU - Jacksonville, Alabama) Gamecocks 1987-88 Basketball Schedule sign.  Thin cardboard with easel back measures 17 X 11 inches.  "Chasing a Legend" features Coaches Bill Jones (244-112) and Tom Roberson (251-163).  Easel has not been used, sign has not been displayed, but has some slight corner wear from being in storage.  Only one available.  Please see my other listings for a similar 1988 Gamecock Baseball Schedule same size sign.  Will be mailed flat.  Will mail one or both together for .50.
Tom Roberson, who became Head Coach in 1953, won six straight Alabama Collegiate Conference basketball championships during a long and illustrious coaching career at JSU.
Roberson turned out dozens of successful coaches, including Bill Jones, the current head-basketball coach at JSU.
Roberson retired, in 1971 as the winningest coach in JSU history.
Jones did go on to become the winningest basketball coach in Jacksonville State history, and led the Gamecocks to their greatest hour in 1985 when he led JSU to a 31-1 mark and the NCAA Division II national title.
