You are looking at a Vintage Allentown Jets ABA Basketball Snapback Hat by DeLong. The Allentown Jets were an Atlantic Basketball Association team from 1993-1994. This was the second iteration of the Jets. The team was coached by Dondi DeShields, Patrick Zipfel and Bruce "Bubba" Jones. The team had Emanual Davis, Ron Lacey, Cheyney State's Ed Geirer, Dean Kriebel, Dozie Mbonu, Eric Yankowy, Joe Parham, Shannon Shell, James Brooke, Tom Hauck, Eric Jacobs, Mike Iorio, Damu Foreman, Lee Perry and Valentine Igwe. The team was the ons odd favorite to win the league, but went 12-14 and finished 3rd in the six team league. I can only find one article about the Jets in The Morning Call, the local Allentown, PA paper, and that was from the start of the season. The only other two articles I can find are from the Fredrick News Post. This is also one of a very few items I can find from the Atlantic Basketball Association. Most of the team names in the ABA are from former ABL/EBL of the 50s, 60s and 70s. Hat shows signs of wear, but is still in wearable condition. This may be one of a very few that was sold, considering the crowds were considered to be sparse at best. Allhats are shipped in a box. Stored in a pet and smoke free home.
