This item
consists of one set of 12 original vintage female nude model photos. All are roughly 4 x 5-in. All 12 photos are of the same model in various stages of undress; stripping for the camera with obvious enthusiasm. These were a part of a collection left by a local photographer of nudes and sexually explicit vintage material. I believe he may have been a recognized contributor to sex magazines and photography journals, perhaps under a psuedonym. I base that on the fact that among his collection were many magazine covers that held a single photo shoot but nothing of the rest of that issue's contents. And, those had no staple holes in the paper, so I know he didn't take the issues apart and save what he liked best. I think they were proofs. The second floor of his home held a studio and all of the equipment and accessories for that purpose. His name was Stephen Gmyr. He passed away twenty years ago, leaving his home to a relative. Only when the house was being put up for resale, did the family discover the photographer's legacy and private collection of vintage and antique risque images. They destroyed all but a fraction. I almost cried when they pointed-out the trash bags they had filled with torn-up 8 x 10's. Of course, money convinced them not to destroy any more. These remaining photos are all in excellent, like new condition, as shown in the photos - a lovely set, complete, (each set individually wrapped in a now frayed glassine envelope), of circa 1940 modelling. Of course, they aren't dated; we have only the occassional piece of furniture or fabric to go by. Each set suggests the subject's personality..
