Vintage Sperry Top-Sider Shoe Box Blue & White Nautical Theme L.L. Bean Receipt!

Here is a wonderful vintage shoe box of an American classic, the Sperry Top-Sider. The shoe originated in 1935 when it was designed by Paul Sperry, and it was the first boat shoe introduced into the footwear market. They of course are still being manufactured today but interestingly in 2015 the brand had dropped the name "Top-Sider" from the company as part of a new campaign. The box is a very colorful blue and white with an expected nautical theme which was pretty standard for the time. There is actually a receipt from L.L. Bean for .50 dated from 1979 inside the box. How's that for a combination of American powerhouse businesses----Sperry Top-Siders sold from an L.L. Bean catalogue. Here's to the good old days!
